Natalie Konopka, freshman Marketing and Public Relations major at Bradley University, started her own organization on campus to raise awareness to Alzheimer’s. During April, Konopka hosted an awareness week called “Cure the Cloud” to promote her organization YMAA and make a presence on campus.
YMAA stands for the “Youth Movement Against Alzheimer’s” and advocates, fundraises, and speaks out for those affected by the disease.
During the week, Konopka and her exec board hosted events on campus including the Whiteboard Campaign, a Memory Wall, and a volunteering event at the Grand View Alzheimer’s Care Center in Peoria, IL. Overall, the week was a success and helped Konopka gain many new members. Konopka also advertised her club and events on Instagram at @bradleyymaa.
YMAA will continue to grow next year at Bradley University, and hopes to “Create a Future Worth Remembering.”
