VIP passes will again be available for School District 84 residents who are 60 years and older to attend regularly scheduled Tomahawk conference athletic events at Sleepy Eye high School. These passes can be picked up in the Community Education office. The first home events are in September so there is ample time to secure a pass.
St. John’s School is sponsoring two soccer teams that will be practicing and competing with the Lutheran grade schools in the area this fall for about six weeks. For more details, contact Dan Rick, St. John’s Elementary Principal at 507-794-6200.
Sleepy Eye School staff will be reporting for in-service activities beginning on Monday, August 14.Open house for elementary students will be on Tuesday, August 15. Packets of information have been sent to families for both elementary and high school students. In addition, packets of information have been provided to families who indicated an interest in preschools for the 2017-2018 year. If you did not receive a packet, please call the school your child will be attending in order to have them enrolled.
Sleepy Eye School students return on Monday, August 21 and St. Mary’s and St. John’s students come to school on Monday, August 28.
The fall sporting seasons all begin with practice on Monday, August 14.
Reservations are coming in already for the outing to the Minnesota State Fair on Monday, August 28. The motor coach would leave Sleepy Eye at 7 a.m. and return around 9 p.m. It is senior day with discounted admission. The fair begins on August 24 and runs through Labor Day.
Party in the Park was again successful with many local residents as well as visitors being involved with activities all over Allison Park whether it was eating, playing games, getting one’s hair colored, listening to music and just visiting with friends and neighbors. It is patterned after National Night Out and is a great family activity during the summer.
