Robert Johnson, age 87, of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota died on September 24, 2017, at Fairfax Community Assisted Living in Fairfax, Minnesota.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Evan, MN
Funeral services will be held at the church on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 10:30 am.
The clergy will be Pastor Rebecca Krogstad.
Interment will be at the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota.

Robert James Johnson was born on September 29, 1929 to Olaf and Alice (Beilke) Johnson in Sleepy Eye, MN. Robert was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Evan where he was a lifelong member. He attended country school and then graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1947. Robert served in the Army from 1952 until 1954 during the Korean War. Robert farmed on the family century farm and also did custom crop spraying. He enjoyed reading, fishing, drives in the country, and later in life doing puzzles. Robert was a member of the American Legion in Sleepy Eye.
He died on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Fairfax Community Assisted Living in Fairfax, MN at the age of 87.
Robert is survived by his brother Darwin (Carol) Johnson of Springfield; sister Judy (Mike) Sandmann of Franklin; and nieces and nephews – Philip, Kahla, Karen, Diane, Teresa, and Brent. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother David.
