The Sleepy Eye Public Utilities have been busy working on the old Del Monte facilities after finalizing the purchase in December for $600,000.
According to Sleepy Eye Mayor Joann Schmidt: “Crews are steadily clearing out remaining materials and preparing the property for future redevelopment. With cleanup progressing, the PUC has begun evaluating a range of possible uses for the large industrial space, including commercial, light manufacturing, and community-oriented concepts. City officials say they are committed to a thorough review process to ensure any future project aligns with community needs and maximizes the site’s economic potential.”
