
Ervin Freddie Gramentz, one of six children of Erwin and Eleanora (Franke) Gramentz, was born on July 6, 1953, at Union Hospital in New Ulm, Minnesota. He grew up in Sleepy Eye and attended Sleepy Eye Public School. Upon his graduation, Ervin worked at Och’s Brick and Tile in Springfield followed by MRCI in New Ulm as well as many other places in New Ulm. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye. He liked collecting matchbox cars and diecast big cars.
He is survived by his sisters, Maryann and Patsyann Gramentz; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Kosbab; special children, Ryan, Camryn, Aubree, Mallory, and Ashley Maher, Cole, Nicole, Karlynn, and Casen Churchill, Braylen Braulick, Jason and Sandy Maher, Brittany Thoms, Jasmyne Windschitl, Joey Lee, Paige Thoms, Jeana and Josh Beach, Jamie Vanoverback, and Jared Spaeth and family; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Eleanora; siblings, Steven, Sandra, and Diane; grandparents, Albert and Annie Franke and William and Alvina Gramentz; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
