Sandra (Domeier) Anderson

Sandra “Sandy” Lee (Domeier) Anderson, age 69, of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, died on December 16, 2025, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye with a Prayer Service at 3:45pm prior to the visitation. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 9:30am to 10:30am at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 11:00am. The clergy will be Fr. Craig Timmerman.

Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.

Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Sandra “Sandy” Lee Nelson was born October 19, 1956, to Earl and Christine Nelson in Sleepy Eye. She married Bruce Anderson January 23, 2017.

Sandy had a long-time career in nursing, starting as an aid at the Sleepy Eye Care Center. She then gained her LPN and started working for Sleepy Eye Hospital (SEMC) eventually returning to school to become an RN. She then followed other career opportunities in Gaylord as Director of Nurses and then in Arlington as the Sibley Medical Center Director of Patient Services. She later returned to SEMC as the Director of Patient Care Services until she retired in 2021. She will be remembered for her kind, compassionate, and nurturing spirit.

In her free time, Sandy enjoyed gardening, canning, Side by Side rides and trips with her husband, Bruce and family. She enjoyed traveling, visiting with family and friends. She especially loved her outings with her nurse friends. She truly cherished loud chaotic Family Holidays and had the best Thanksgiving stuffing recipe.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Bruce Anderson; children, Gary (Leann) Domeier, Ryan Domeier, Chris (Ashley) Domeier, and Katie (Jim Osmonson) Domeier; stepchildren, Jason, Wyatt, and Courtney; brother, Steve (Beth) Nelson; sister, Lori (Tod) Klotz; 22 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Christine Nelson.
