\"\"<\/a>Mary Jayne Haus, age 81, of Sleepy Eye, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026, on Mother\u2019s Day, at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center, surrounded by her family.<\/p>\n

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at St. John\u2019s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye with Pastor Tim Berg officiating. Burial will take place in the Fort Ridgely Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church prior to the service.<\/p>\n

Mary Jayne is survived by her husband of 59 years, Laurell \u201cShorty\u201d Haus; son, Michael (Lorraine) Haus; daughters, Kristine (Jeff) Mateyka and Brenda (Rick) Hoffman; grandchildren, Mason, Jett (Kayla), Brooklyn (Anderson), Olivia, Jordan, Ramzey, Daniel, and Abbie; and great-grandchild, Lucca.<\/p>\n

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Jean (Jim) Dulas and Geraldine \u201cPunky\u201d (Wayne) Zabel, and niece, Paula Dulas.<\/p>\n

Mary Jayne Zoller was born on September 26, 1944, to Albert and Evelyn (Bogue) Zoller in Blue Earth, Minnesota. She graduated from Waldorf High School. On July 30, 1966, Mary Jayne was united in marriage to Laurell \u201cShorty\u201d Haus at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf.<\/p>\n

Mary Jayne worked for Mielke Accounting and Americana Bank in Sleepy Eye, as well as Dietrich Specialties in New Ulm. She was an active member of St. John\u2019s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she formerly served with the Ladies Aid.<\/p>\n

Mary Jayne enjoyed playing cards, baking, gardening, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. While Michael, Kristine and Brenda were growing up, Mary Jayne loved supporting them in their activities, such as football, baseball, volleyball, basketball and track. She and Shorty were often seen wearing the school colors proudly with their orange sweaters, often referred to as the \u201cPumpkin Patch.\u201d Later in her life, while living at Assisted Living, she liked her Bingo and live entertainment. She always enjoyed her Elvis Presley, Everly Brothers, and Neil Sedaka.<\/p>\n

In addition to her children, grandchildren, and husband, Mary Jayne\u2019s faith was also at the forefront of her life. It was important to her and Shorty to instill the same values in their children. Her relationship with Jesus was strong to the end.<\/p>\n

Mary Jayne\u2019s smile and sweet manner will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.<\/p>\n

Mother\u2019s Day will now hold a deeper meaning for her children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
