His funeral service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, June 20 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Willmar. His visitation will be 5:00 \u2013 7:00 pm, Friday and one hour prior to the service, all at the church. His burial will be 1:00 pm, Sunday, June 21 at Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson &amp; Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar<\/p>\n<p>Dennis Krueger was born on November 5, 1942, in St. Paul, Minnesota. At the age of 2\u00bd years, he was adopted through the Children&#8217;s Home Society of Minnesota by Leonard and Ruth (Harmening) Krueger. He was baptized on December 3, 1942, in St. Paul. Dennis grew up in Sleepy Eye, where he attended St. John&#8217;s Lutheran Elementary School. He was confirmed in his faith on May 20, 1956, at St. John&#8217;s Lutheran Church and later graduated from Sleepy Eye Public School in 1960. Following high school, Dennis began working on the family farm.<\/p>\n<p>On February 29, 1964, Dennis was united in marriage to Janice Vanderwerf at Aldersgate Methodist Church in St. Louis Park. Together they were blessed with three sons: Paul, Charles, and Dan. The family made their home in Willmar.<\/p>\n<p>Dennis worked as a foreman for Hoffman Brothers Inc. of Atwater and later joined the maintenance department at Ridgewater College, where he remained until his retirement in 2008. In 2004, Dennis and Janice moved to Svea. During retirement, they enjoyed spending their winters in Tucson, Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>A faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dennis served in many ways, including elder, usher, and financial secretary. Faith was an important part of Dennis\u2019s life, and he was proud to share those values with his children. He was also active in his community as a member of the OWLS, Builders for Christ, and AFSCME, where he served as a union steward. Dennis volunteered with Meals on Wheels and served as an election judge.<\/p>\n<p>Dennis enjoyed working with his hands and was always fixing something, whether repairing furniture or tinkering on tractors. He was known for his positive outlook, and his sense of humor. Dennis took great pride in raising his children in the faith.<\/p>\n<p>Dennis is survived by his wife, Janice of Svea; sons: Paul (Deb) Krueger of Willmar, Charles Krueger of Svea, and Dan (Suzy) Krueger of Prior Lake; four grandchildren: Matthew (Rebecca) Krueger, Desrae (Noah) Forst, Evan Krueger, and Tara Krueger; four great-grandchildren: Eli and Emerson Forst, and Priya and Winslet Krueger; and his sister-in-law, Janice Banks Krueger.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Ruth Krueger; sister, Arlene Krueger; and brother, Donald Krueger.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dennis Krueger, 83, of Svea, went home to his savior on Saturday, June 13 at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.
