Bradley Bode
Bradley “Brad” Bode, age 64 of Courtland died peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Funeral service will be 11 am on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. Pastor Paul Lauer will officiate, and burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be from 9-11 am on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland.

Brad is survived by his daughters, Jessica Bode of Courtland, and Krystle (Jon) Sorenson of Amboy; his son, Benjamin (Libby Bennett) Bode of Rochester; sisters, Janette (Jeff) Luckhardt of Dayton, and Bridget (Brian) Garrison of New Lenox, Illinois; brothers, Gregg (Lois) Bode of Courtland, and Grant (Gail) Bode of New Ulm; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his niece, Zoe Garrison.
Brad was born on October 24, 1960, in New Ulm to Wallace and Patricia (Thorson) Bode. He attended grade school at Immanuel Lutheran School in rural Courtland and later graduated from Nicollet Public High School. On May 16, 1997, Brad was united in marriage with Kris Weilage, and together they raised their three children on the family farm in rural Courtland.
Brad was a dedicated worker, spending much of his career with Schell’s Brewery and Seneca in Montgomery. He loved the outdoors—especially hunting, fishing, and cruising on his motorcycle. He also loved going to his children’s sports events, learning and teaching his kids about historical events, and watching and complaining about the Vikings.
Brad will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Blessed be his memory.
