FFA Members of the Month
Elsie Trebesch is an eighth grader and has been in FFA for two years. Elsie joined FFA to be more involved in her community and improve her agriculture skills. Elsie is on the Floriculture Career Development Event (CDE) team and likes learning about plants and making floral arrangements and corsages. Her favorite FFA activity is Timberland Camp and she is looking forward to going again this summer. Since joining FFA, Elsie has learned how to make a corsage and how to identify many different plants and flowers. Elsie is proud of earning 2nd place at Regions for Floriculture.
Madi Martinez is a ninth grader and has been in FFA for three years. Madi joined FFA because she wanted to open herself up to opportunities and fun experiences. Madi is on the Nursery Landscape CDE team and likes learning about the plants associated with landscaping. Her favorite FFA activity is the Lock-In. She is looking forward to trying out for the State FFA Band and going to State Convention. Since joining Ag. Classes, Madi has learned about many different crops and livestock breeds. Madi is proud of getting 1st place at Regions for the Nursery Landscape Contest.
Millie Lax is a ninth grader and has been in FFA for three years. Millie joined FFA because she grew up around agriculture and she wanted to further her leadership skills. Millie is on the Horse CDE team and likes it because it is a fun way to learn and compete using her horse knowledge. Her favorite FFA activity is playing volleyball at the fun nights. Since joining FFA, Millie has learned about time management and how to be self-motivated. Millie is proud of earning her Discovery Degree and being on a State Qualifying CDE Team.
Ethan Hinderman is a ninth grader and has been in FFA for three years. Ethan joined FFA because he works with animals and thought he would do good in FFA. Ethan participates in the Livestock and Best Informed Greenhand CDE’s. He likes seeing all of the animals at the contest and learning more about the livestock animals he doesn’t work with. Ethan’s Supervised Ag. Experience (SAE) consists of raising 340 baby calves to sell and raising 500 other groups of cattle. His favorite FFA activity is Livestock Judging. Ethan is looking forward to attending the State FFA Convention and possibly trying Poultry Judging. While being in Ag. Class and FFA, Ethan has learned more about sheep, pigs, and goats as well as information and the history of FFA. An award Ethan is most proud of is his Discovery Degree.
