Loren was born on August 13, 1936, on the farm near Comfrey to Floyd and Anna (Elsing) Renberg. He grew up in the Comfrey area and graduated from Comfrey High School in 1954.

On November 22, 1959, Loren married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Anderson, in Fargo, North Dakota. Together, they built a life centered on family, laughter, and love. Their love was evident to all who knew them. Where you saw one, you saw the other. Loren treasured Pat, and they created a lifetime of memories. In their younger years, they especially enjoyed camping and traveling, embracing adventures together and making friendships wherever they went. A proud farmer, Loren dedicated many years to working the land before retiring in 1998.

A devoted member of the Comfrey community, Loren generously gave his time and talents through service on the Comfrey School Board, the boards of Faith Lutheran Church and New Hope Church, and the Brown County Planning and Zoning Committee. He was also a longtime girls’ basketball coach, mentoring young athletes and encouraging them both on and off the court.

Loren found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He cherished conversation with friends in Comfrey, took pride in planting flowers each spring, enjoyed keeping a well-manicured lawn, and rarely missed an opportunity to watch sports. Yet nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his family. He was a proud and devoted supporter of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, faithfully cheering them on from the sidelines at countless sporting events and activities.

Loren is survived by his beloved wife, Pat; sons, Brian (Mary) Renberg of Sleepy Eye and Greg (Sherri) Renberg of Chaska; grandchildren, Lance (Brittany) Renberg of Madelia and Allison (Shane) Theas of Belle Plaine; great-grandchildren, Lucy and Finn Renberg, and Brooklyn, Graham, and Mack Theas; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and their families, including Kay (Mike) Johnson, Kari (Fred) Aten, Paula (Dan) Brubaker, Beth (Tad) Whitten, Donette Vandemark, and DJ Vandemark.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Anna Renberg; his brother, Russell (Carol) Renberg; and his sister-in-law, Prudy (Don) Vandemark.
