Schauman selected state winner for Region 2A EXCEL award

Sleepy Eye High School Junior Jace Schauman has been been selected as one of the 34 state level ExCEL Award recipients for 2026.

This honor reflects your exceptional contributions and dedication. Out of 348 applicants, the selection committee was especially inspired by Jace’s leadership, achievements, and contributions, selecting her as one of this year’s distinguished honorees.

Each ExCEL Award recipient is invited to participate in an on-court recognition ceremony on Saturday, March 14th at Williams Arena in Minneapolis. Recipients will be introduced and presented with their plaque during halftime of the Class AAA Championship game, starting at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony will be televised.
