Softball: USC 10; Sleepy Eye 3

SE lost to defending state champ USC 10-3

After each team scored 1 run in the 2nd inning.

In inning #3 after 2 outs Jace Schauman walked followed by a 2 run homerun from Jaelynn Schauman to put SE up 3-1 after 3 innings.  Things turned for the worse for SE in the 4th inning.  Combination of walks hits and 6 Sleepy Eye errors led to a 10-3 final score.

Taylor Berkner gave up 10 runs on 8 hits, walked 9 and struck out 8.

5 of the USC runs were earned.

Sleepy Eye collected just 2 hits off all state pitcher Mariah Anderson she gave up 3 runs on 2 hits she walked 4 and struck out 15.  Callie Evers collected the only other SE hit in the game.
